How to get amateur photographers into my studio for glamour photo shoot?

I have a small studio in a suburban location. I have a several young models who need work. No touching. No exposed genitalia. I'm not a pimp. They are not whores.
I'm thinking around $150 for a 90 minute session. I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35 Digital Camera for the customer to use (my current back-up) and this lighting kit http://www.adorama.com/SVFL270.html we will use my studio and a variety of backgrounds. 45 minutes shooting. 45 minutes editing. All photos remain my property, but I will give you a 11x14 print from my Epson Stylus.
Does this sound reasonable? The model gets $75 for a hour. She will be clothed to semi-nude. You will have a choice of about 6 women, 19 to 27 years old. One light skinned black, the others white.
Any suggestions as to how to make this more professional or legitimate is appreciated.

hang on - have I read this right.

You are wanting to get amateur photographers to use your studio to shoot young models.

You will supply the camera and even though they will be taking the pictures they will "remain" your property.

You will "give" a print and for this you are going to charge them 150.

You HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING.

1. no photographer, amateur or otherwise will agree to that

2. the only people going to take up that offer would be the raincoat brigade and why should they when they can sit in a strip club for most of the day for less than that.

3. An amateur photographer would have their own camera(s)

4. copyright of the images would be the photographers

5. this is the most unprofessional, idiotic, badly thought out idea I have heard in a long time.

I tend to agree and disagree with some of the replies.

First, $150 is out of line for something that you will end up with all the rights to. Unless you manage to find a sucker or someone who absolutely has no idea what their doing, that's probably never going to happen. An 11x14 print just doesn't cut it as far as compensation.

Most photographer's are going to want to shoot their own models and I'd be very surprised if they didn't have their own D/SLR camera that they're already familiar with. I certainly wouldn't want to spend paid time learning how to use YOUR camera.

I would recommend offering to rent the studio out on a day and half day rate. Include your lighting kit as well as a small refrigerator stocked with free drinks (soda and bottled water). I would also think about gathering as many props as possible such as used furniture and stuff (cheap through garage sales and private parties), Don't offer anything models would use in an intimate way including lingerie. These are generally very personal items and you'll go broke trying to stock an ample wardrobe of various sizes. Something to seriously consider as well is liability insurance.

What happens if a photographer shoots underage models in YOUR studio or if someone gets hurt?

You apparently have a few models looking for work and want to offer them as well, but I would make this a separate offer, apart from the studio rental. You're also going to need to invest in a better lighting system but that can probably wait until you have a few rentals. You also said small studio, so you may or may not be able to incorporate the props I mentioned, at least not the larger ones.

As for the photo's - they belong to the photographer, not you. Otherwise I'd be better off just paying the model or someone else to rent their home or apartment and do my shoot in a more "natural" space.

Just something to think about. Hope it helps.

For 150.00 I can rent a complete studio for 8 hours, large size (25x50 shooting space), office/reception area, changing room, 4 lights, backdrops and props. There's no camera included, but I've got enough to cover it, as would any other photographer.

Advertise on CL and do a TFP, and you can get enough girls to come in and make it worthwhile.

Your prices seem way out of line. I can rent that same studio for 25.00 an hour, and get a free model to do a TFP or pay a model 25.00 for the hour and no prints.

And now I see the lighting setup you're using, the setup I rent is listed at around 3,500.00.

Rent the studio out for full day, no models, for around 100.00, or do it by the hour.

I agree with the previous post, it sounds creepy.

I think you are very pretty and have a beautiful figure! I would say you are more suited to catalogue and commercial modelling rather than catwalk because you don't have to be 5'9" to do catalogue or commercial.... I'm only 5'4" and I'm with 4 different agencies! Half the time they look at how you act around the camera and stuff as well and your beauty so all the best honey xxx

This is exactly what it sounds like. I'm not prude but this is just disgusting.

And you want to charge photographers to take photos of your models? I'm sorry, it actually works the other way around. Why would anyone pay $150 when they can find a willing model who will pose nude in exchange for prints?

you will need more to test the fesibility than asking here........

could you at least stretch to a dslr so the client thinks they are using something professional?

best bet, do up portfolios for the girls and send them to modeling agencies
