Buy side film, shoot it, have it developed and mounted. The critical part here is finding a developing lab for slide film. Not all do. Ask the store you buy the film from to be sure.

Slides use a type of chemistry called E6 which is different from regular colour negative film (C41). You can buy processing kits for E6, one of which I've listed below. As well as those chemicals you will also need a bunch of equipment, including a film tank.

After you've processed the film you'll end up with a whole strip of "slides" which then need to be mounted. You can buy cardboard or plastic mounts and then carefully cut up the film and mount it individually.

Alternatively, you could give in and send them off to a lab for processing, where they will be able to do it cheaply and probably better, too. If you're new to film processing at home, black & white negatives are an excellent place to start, because they are easier.

Have fun!

Most slide film comes processing paid using the envelope included you just send the exposed film off to the Lab.

You can process the film at home using the E6 process, but it's very temperature sensitive, you need a calibrated thermometer and a film developing tank. Unless your processing in bulk it really isn't worth it.

In the UK your best bet from a chain that can help is going to be Jacobbs Digital http://www.jacobsdigital.co.uk/c-62-jacobs-digital-darkroom-equipment.aspx maybe even London Camera Exchange. It's definitely getting harder to source the equipment you need to be doing this at home.

Just feeding "home slide photo developing uk" into the G-search engine will pull up plenty of tutorials - unfortunately using Yahoo just, as you stated, pulls up hundreds of commercial sites.

Once you have bought your positive transparency film, exposed it, you will need to find a company

that makes the single exposure plastic film holders,I would have thought you should be able to get hold of these off Google, other than that visit a branch of "Jessops"photography store and ask about

them, and where they used to get theirs from....
