My essay on Ansel Adams...?

Ansel Easton Adams was an American photographer born in 1902 in San Francisco, California.

Adams was best known for taking black and white scenic photographs. He took thousands of pictures and not every one of them was great but he learned from his mistakes and made each one better than the one before. What I admire about his pictures, is that he practiced taking the photos to make them art. A personal favourite of mine is Clearing Storm, Sonoma County Hills, this picture makes my mind wander and makes me think about the photograph and its mystery and coldness.

When someone like Adams can take something as common as nature and make it truly superb, inspires me and makes me want to achieve that within my work. I think Adams wanted to show people how great and beautiful nature was and I think he achieved that.

If anyone can correct me on anything or help me improve it i would be really grateful :)

You can't discuss Ansel Adams without mentioning the Zone System that he developed. Look it up and that should add considerably to your essay.

A ribbon of worn tarmac drifting into the horizon watched by clouds that swim across the vast ocean of blue sky. Ansel Adams (U.S., 1902-1984): Road, Nevada Desert Silver-gelatine print, 7.5 x 9.5 inches, circa 1960 Speaking volumes about the wide open spaces of the American West... and about the road ahead... this image shows a surprising side to Ansel Adams' works. But Adams' career was filled with fresh visual surprises--insights that combined to make him the most famous photographer of the twentieth century. This seldom-seen image is part of Adams' Hasselblad Series, and he annotated and signed it on the back for the present owner in 1979

Also, Ansel Adams was a huge environmentalist, be sure to add a good bit about this very important part of his life.

And, he hung out with some very cool people, like Georgia OKeefe

Oh, you can mention some of the places he photographed like Yosemite (a lot), and Taos New Mexico as well.

That's not an essay, that is two paragraphs and there is hardly anything about him in there.

What about his environmental work

What about the zone system

what about the f/64 group

How about the fact he got the Presidential medal of honour

what about the fact that he trained to be a concert pianist prior to taking up photography

etc etc

any essay on AA should include at the least the above stuff but should definitely include his environmental and conversation work.

You might want to find a synonym for "common". Maybe "ubiquitous", but make sure you know what the word means before you use it.
