Photography Frequently Asked Questions.?

Okay everybody. Here is hoping that maybe. Just maybe People might See this before they go jumping into a fit of repetitive questioning.

1. """Color Splash"""
This effect is actually (In MY Case) Just where I go in and reduce the saturation of every color except one. Like if you just want red to show up in your picture I will open Photoshop. open "Saturation" Then desaturate every color except for red.

Example: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/173/430093929_c7b50df955.jpg
(In the example some blue is shown. That can be done by not pulling the "cyan" or "blue" saturation down as well.)

2. What is a good First camera to buy?(What camera is good for a beginner?)
--I am a Nikon man. So maybe a Canon or Pentax person can answer this and I will add it so the additional comments. But as far as Nikon goes. And I am assuming that we are talking Slr/Dslr camera's Then. The Nikon D40 (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond40/) Is the Base line for Dslr. It is compact. And very capable of taking phenomenal pictures. It is (Semi) Inexpensive. And Its interface is INCREDIBLY suitable for begginers. It has a button that will TEACH you about each function. As far as Film SLR's go the Nikon beginner would be a Nikon FM10 (http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Product/Film-Camera/1689/FM10.html) This camera is easy to use and doesn't have to many confusing extra's it would go great with a good online course or community college class.

Well Nik there was a lot there I didn't know.

There is also a lot I don't know about the dynamics of this category.

I will be finding out though as I plan to spend some time here.

I can confidently answer little, so I guess I will pick up some of the "Frequently Asked Questions" & no doubt I will also be asking them.

Technology seems to have evolved, much faster than I have adapted.

Buying a DSLR has rekindled my passion for photography, joining Flickr has greatly benefited me.

And I reckon this category is a good place to come, for some praise & criticism.

A reality check is essential, a glimpse into the depth of what I could learn, is exciting.

To rub shoulders with some of knowledgeable & talented users here, I feel is such a valuable opportunity.

This is my stream anyway, if I haven't linked you to it before.

Rate me on a grey scale of black - white, black being the darkest & am I pretty

silly for even using Yahoo Answers.

(Question)

This would be such a great idea if anyone ever used the search option. But I don't think anyone does. The paradox lies within the fact that if everyone did use the search option, we wouldn't need this idea in the first place.

A great idea would be a link somewhere on the page that would take you to a FAQ board for that particular category. And the top contributors for each category could help to provide the FAQs and the answers for them.

No more questions all the time about selective color, color splash, etc.

And for questions that don't really pertain to photography, like the 'am I pretty' posts we get bombarded with, would be advised to find the correct category.

Can we actually suggest this somewhere? An FAQ is a great idea. Kudos.

Not only are they not going to read this, but they are also not going to read any FAQ that might be published. It's easy to do a search, but do the people who ask questions here ever do a search?

What a question, NO THEY NEVER DO A SEARCH! Why should they, that takes time and energy and some degree of ability, curiosity, intelligence, whatever it is, it is in short supply!

Just ignore the questions you don't care to deal with. It works for me.

You just spent however long typing this out and it will be totally ignored.

If anyone was intelligent enough to do a search on any of the above subjects then they would not have to ask the questions.

Obviously the people asking "how do I do colour splash" or some of the others don't have that level of intelligence therefore your FAQ's are a waste of time.

This is helpful. But as they start typing "splash.." (your question will pop up), sadly it will be ignored.

One more, "Where do I get Polaroid film!!?"

Okay, some more--"I got me camera wet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Okay, how about, "I have Leica M8.2. Is it a good camera?"

and so on.

Oh yeah, oh yeah, "Canon or Nikon?" like this one https://answersrip.com/question/index?qid=20090725232457AAmXDvc
