I'm sorry but both of these two are wrong. Yes you can. I know for a fact that Inkpress makes a canvas you can print on because I've done it. I had to use the envelope setting for the thickness on my Canon inkjet photo printer. Look here http://www.inkpresspaper.com/profiles.asp?PaperID=15 There is a glossy surfaced canvas too. It's not just a canvas textured paper it's actual canvas with a backing.
Have fun I did!

Neither will work since the canvas will jam in the printer. Inkjet ink is water based so even if you could print it on canvas, if the canvas got wet, the ink would run.

Ummm.... no, I would not recommend you taping canvas to cardboard, unless you enjoy spending all day clearing out a huge printer jam.
There are plenty of canvas printing materials available made for ink jet printers. I have even seen 8.5 x 11 sheets of canvas at Office Max made for ink jet printers. I have used it with good results. I used the Matte paper setting in my printer, and yes, you have to give the print a few hours to dry completely, but after that, it is fine.
