University project? They let people into university who can't write? Standards really are dropping. I'd fail you on first grade English for that.
Anyway. Enough of my pet peeve. As for your idea, that's not bad, I have to say. You have to decide whether you want posed or candid shots. Both could work.
However, I'd also try and get something else "society" related into the pictures, something which matches to the subject. For instance, take a picture of kids holding hands, but take it so there's a school in the frame, or a kindergarten, or something like that. If it's a gay or lesbian couple, then get them in front of a Pride flag or some other symbol of gay culture. If it's an elderly couple, then choose a background which is appropriate for that age group. And so on. Then your pictures will have more than one layer, so to speak. You will likely have to go for posed shots in that case, unless you're exceptionally good.
The reason for doing this is that if you're going to be doing project related photos, the shots have to clearly state what the project is about. One good way to think about it: if your photos need more than a few words of explanation, then you're not doing it right.
