okay so i need help and fast lol... i took photography at my high school this semester and just last week my teacher had me hand color one of my black and white prints that i did for fun and now im trying to do more of handcoloring on my other prints that i never had to turn in to give as christmas presents but i have one problem. she had me spray the print with this clear acrylic matte stuff? i think thats what it was but im not sure because it was a week ago and what not i guess my question is if spraying it with that is necessary for the colored pencil to not damage the print she told me it would give the a "tooth" or a bit of an edge so i could work with colored pencils, so if it is necessary whats a good product to buy to give it that edge?

and i WOULD ask my teacher but she left town suddenly for a funeral so i had no chance to ask her so any help would be MUCH appreciated. thanks in advance

Krylon Preserve It matte spray finish, get it at an art or craft store.

Oils or dye are much better than pencils.

The product you want is Spray Matte (Lacquer) made by Marshall's. They make a lot of handcoloring transparent oils and other retouching supplies. You might be able the find a suitable matte spray at a local camera store.

Here is one online:

I assume you are using Marshall's Photo pencils. You do not need the spray for tooth but you generally use a thinning solution with the pencils.
