Question:
How do people get those pictures that are black and white except for one color?

Lately a lot of people have been publishing pictures (for example as their facebook profile pic and so on) that are all black and white but just one color is showing. Like, for example a red hat is the only colored thing in the pic.
I know how to do that in photoshop, but since there are so many of those pictures now I think there must be an easier way. Maybe a feature of the camera?

You can do it on picnik.com also. If you go in to edit the picture, use the black and white option, and then you can recolor the part you want. I use it sometimes and I really like it!

Photoshop. But there are cameras that can filter one color only. Like mine: i got a Canon PowerShot A420 :)

Photoshop or some equivalent. There are lots of free online and/or free image editors out there, pretty much all of which can do this.

you cant achieve this effect in camera... its done in photoshop /paintshop pro/gimp/etc etc...

how would you select what was to stay colour and what wasnt? the easiest way is still two layers, one for colour, the other for B&W...
