If it's any sort of academic essay then ignore Taylor. That will get you no points at all.
Your introduction should explain what you are going to talk about, why you're talking about it and a brief list of some key points you will be addressing.
This is the intro of an essay I wrote on self published photo books between 1963 and the present:
"In the following essay I will be investigating the self-published photo book and it's evolution from obscurity to reasonable mainstream success and why that may be. I will also be looking at how the content of some of these photo books differs from that of exhibition and commercial work and how, with modern technology, the photo book is changing. I will be looking at artists such as: Ed Ruscha; Sjoerd Knibbeler, Alec Soth and Lester B Morrison. I will also be looking at zines from the 1960's to the 1990's. The sources I will be using in the essay are various websites of distributors such as Little Brown Mushroom, Self Publish Be Happy, the website Blurb and online articles from newspapers and blogs. I have chosen these sources as the self-published photo book market is widely available online and thousands of books from family photo albums to artistic books can be purchased and I feel that it is relevant to the subject of the following essay."
I'm not the best at writing essays but that is a rough guide to how you should write an intro.

Snap! Click! Snap! One photograph after another, each one turning out beautiful. But How? I believe that in a good photograph, you have to have great scenery, if there is a person their personality should be showing through, there should be a story behind it, and it needs to grab attention. Photographs should be enjoyable to look at and with all those qualities, one sure can be.
I hope I helped!
