You say you're looking for high quality, and low price.... Those terms need to be expanded upon. How high quality? And, what price is a low price? You've already mentioned Walmart and yorkphoto at 8 and 9 cents a piece. Because those are some of the lowest prices available for 4x6 photo prints. They're also on the lower end of the quality spectrum, though. The reason they can offer prints so cheap is because the materials aren't the best quality. These prints will only last years before fading and yellowing - compared to higher quality prints which last decades or even a century without fading or yellowing. For example, in my print shop, we use only the HIGHEST quality photo paper available, 100% acid free, archival paper, with archival inks. Our prints are rated for 100+ years. We also include minor touch-ups, color corrections, and intuitive cropping/resizing (which means, we won't just randomly crop your image and cut off important things. If your image needs to be cropped, we use our human brain, and crop it where it still looks good. If a good crop isn't possible, we tell you and let you choose the crop, or choose a different photo) for free in our print prices. Now obviously, all of this wouldn't be possible for only 8 cents per print. Our price for a 4x6 print (with a small discount for a quantity of 50) is $1.20 each. That seems high, but considering that you'll need to reprint your walmart photos 25 times over the next 50 years because it keeps fading and turning yellow, you're actually saving money in the long run, and getting a much nicer looking, perfectly color corrected and adjusted print, the first time. I hope that helps put into perspective the difference between high quality and low quality, versus a high price and low price. As quality goes up, so does price. It's nearly impossible to find a truly high quality print, at a bargain basement price like walmart. Good luck in your search!
