Greetings,

This year why not spend some time every week at the library.

Yes, go twice a week and spend the time going chapter by chapter with a book on Photography, do work that the chapter talks about and move on to the next one. I see your also into interior and architecture so take the second trip to study those books too.

Next year you will be able then to show images when out looking for a summer hook up at ... wait for it.... interior design and photo studios..

Ask to just do the GO FOR work and hang out so you can get an idea of what is real about the jobs. You will be both a year older and there for more able to get in the door and be able to SEE and HEAR what is going on with a foundation from this years work.

I think the main problem is that you're too young.

And secondly, most professionals that will take on an intern will expect him (or her, of course) to already be proficient with the camera first.

So the best thing to do is get a degree in photography, and go from there.

In our studio we have hired high school students to come in after school to sort orders, especially in the Fall when we are very busy. Although this is not walking around taking pictures, it gives them a good idea of the business side of photography. While 15 is too young to hire in my state, I believe 16 is ok.

To be honest I never seen any photographer using teenagers. The equipment is very expensive and heavy. You are expected to carry all the equipment around. Most photographer do not expect you to be a shooter you are there to assist the photographer. Few assistants will get behind the camera. But that does not mean you could find a photographer who might take you under his or her wings you might just not start our assisting, perhaps you will help with the office work, coffe, lunch etc and ease yourself into assisting. There are lost of task to be done in photography studios be willing to do some of them. Good luck
