Hey, I'm a 14 year old aspiring photographer. I've been taking pictures for about a year, but I want people to notice them, like magazine editors or museum curators. I was just wondering if anybody knew any good ways of getting my work noticed. Thanks Alot!

Heres the Link to my flickr account:

Tell me what you think.

(please don't tell me I'm too young. i have a 15 year old friend who has shots in 3 issues of RIDE BMX magazine.)

If you want them noticed by magazine editors then you have to send them to the editors.

Museum curators???? why.

Get hold of the photographers market handbook - that lists most magazines etc with contact details http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_0_20?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=photographers+market+2010&sprefix=photographers+market

Or the Freelance photographers market handbook in the UK.

ok your not to young.

you just passed 10, four years ago.

please realize that taking pictures is not what pro's do.

If I were you, I would take all the pictures you could, look at them with a critical eye and ask yourself, if you would buy them.

As you grow up and look at what other people have done, you should realize all the things people have done.

You and your friend are shooting pictures for people that are interested in what you like. In this case it's BMX, but there is a whole world out there waiting to be discovered. You just need a few years to realize this.

Here is my advice, keep shooting and have a blast, if at some point you want to go pro, start early and get into a good photography school and check out the way cool stuff the pro's are doing. In the mean time keep clicking.

Okay, yes...you do have some potentials here. Some of your photos are really nice.

Nonetheless, you need to build a portfolio to present your work ...also you need to develop a theme, or tell a story ...this will make your photos noticed by professionals and you can present them to talent scouts for newspapers, magazines, advertisements etc. There is a big, big market out there for photographers and it is very competitive to get in. I noticed that you have a talent for colors (You could photograph food, or fashion displays etc.)...See what you like and take many photos and pick the best ones for your portfolio. Some ideas could be to photographing people, interesting architecture, public artworks, people out there on the streets (remember that when you photograph pictures of people for gain, you should get a release from them).

Good luck on your endeavor.

You asked this same question a few days ago... didn't like the answers?

OK... this is based off of what you have in your gallery...

your still shots of the guitar are good enough for stock photography, the rest of your pictures are rather boring compositions. You want to tell us how your friend is in the 3 issues and how he is 15... now ask yourself...

Do my pictures look like his? probably not

Would I buy my pictures from me? probably not

Since you are young and have lots of time to mature into a great photographer, study as many tutorials as you can handle. Do a few searches on:

Action photography tutorials

Extreme photography tutorials

Stuff like that will get you onto the right path

My teacher that works with photography said if we wanted our work to bee noticed by professionals we had to make a portfolio of our work and stuff, then take it to a famous photography company and ask for them to look at them.

The only problem, I think you might have is, not enough people pictures. Take a few photo shoots of either your friends or random people then you should be good.

And also, I think your pictures are great. Keep up the good work, and don't worry, I was 11 when I started so don't worry about your age.

you have have been given some stable photos, yet too many circumstances your matters are smack dab interior the midsection, study up on the rule of thirds. keep examining and continually getting to understand new issues and you gets there too.
