Smoke canisters in the UK?

I work part-time as a semi professional fashion photographer, and I'm having some issues finding a particular prop in the UK. I've seen videos etc of a product that basically puts out smoke, for 5 minutes in a fairly steady stream, and for the photoshoot that I've got soon, this is the sort of effect that I want. Unfortunately these products don't seem to be available in the UK market, they are however all over the place in the US. I'm fairly sure I wouldn't be able to import them due to the fact they're basically fireworks, so can anyone point me in the direction I need?
I have looked at both paintballing/airsoft grenades and skydiving smoke emitters, but these produce a far denser cloud than I'm looking for. I have also looked into dry ice/stage props, but the photoshoot itself will be right out in the sticks and I already have enough gear to cart around without thinking about power sources and things melting.

If anyone can help me it would be very much appreciated.

The only smoke cartridges I can think of are ones used for testing airflow & leaks in buildings.



Searching for those, I also found a site specialising in smoke effects, including 'smoke grenades' for stage use etc.

They are commonly available from some of the paint-ball sites.

its all military equipment, but skydiving ones you can get at PARA-GEAR.COM and they ship all over the world... also check some army and navy sites...
