How to layer in digital photography?

Question

Is there a website that could explain how to do this? I would like to add/remove people from photos, or change the background, but I have no idea how. I'm a little new to it, and the directions that came with the software is a little confusing (the book is over 1,000 pages). I use "photo impact pro, version 11". Is there a website that could simply how it is done?

Fantastic, those Photoshop-lovers, but they never give a satisfying answer, do they ? Photoimpact is really great and isn't that hard to get used to. Here's a set of basic tutorials that will really help you to get started :

Photo Impact is a great program but it's soooo hard to master. Photoshop costs around $600 but some people have loads of money. The problem with photo Impact is that it's not widely used and there are very few (if any) tutorials out there. What you want to do is not easy anyway. You have to use several processes and any one slip can screw the job up. I would only do something like this if I was entering a competition or getting paid. It can be a bit stressful as a casual hobby thing. Anyway, this may surprise you but one of the best references for this sort of stuff is YouTube. There are hundreds of video demos and tutorials there for Photoshop, maybe Gimp and maybe even PhotoImpact.

Photoshop is the best software to do photo editing.

The latest version CS3 requires lots of memory. CS2 work wonders for me.

As for how to use it, it has an instruction manual. press the F1 key and input a few words such as "work with layers" and the Help files will give you step-by-step instructions. Lots on people on Y!A will also help you around your problems.

Photoshop 7 is great. layers are used to make up the full image, you can copy one part of a picture and add it to another layer.

If you want to learn something about taking pictures in layers, then maybe cutting the layer parts out and editing them that way, look at this site:
