Any ideas what I could use in my art coursework? I'm focusing on photography and wanted some ideas. So far I've come up with those torch photos in the dark, using filters and pictures of circles but anything else?

If you have the facilities at your school I would really try and do developing because it shows a high level of skill. Try and focus on the technique so use of shutter speed and aperture. Also consider computer editing maybe using photoshop, selective colouring is quite an easy effect to produce and looks quite impressive. For GCSE you want to show that you have developed your ideas and tried different techniques.

Are you working to a brief? Is this GCSE O Level, AS, or A level? Try, "Glass". If you are working in colour, fill your glass with liquids, either contrasting colours or complementary colours, and back light your subject. Choose a background to suit your colour scheme. Or, "Vernacular Architecture", (Street Furniture) Choose something that illustrates form and function, preferably with a good texture as well. Post Boxes, Street Signs, Park Benches etc. Or illustrate a line from a poem. "Go not quietly into that dark night" Dylan Thomas. It's about not just giving in and accepting the inevitability of death. Take pictures of Senior Citizens partying. People who could die tomorrow, enjoying life to the full.
