You should inquire at the local community college. They often offer classes for seniors with a tuition waiver. Definitely look into it.

Otherwise, you could post on craigslist that you are a senior looking for someone who would be generous enough to help you get the hang of using your D60. I know I would do it if you were local.

Couple of things you might like to consider;

Have a look at DTown TV a weekly show from Nikon. It covers a number of cameras & their functions, so it won't ALL be relevant, but the D60 is one of the models they talk about. There are annoying 'ad' breaks but they're tolerable.

You can view past episodes from the start. Each one is about 12mins or so long.

Secondly, have you investigated whether there is a local camera club near you? I belong to a local club and we actively welcome photographers of all ages & abilities. We have visiting speakers, simple photoshop tutorials, monthly competitions and visits & photoshoots. You would likely find other members who are Nikon shooters & who may be D60 owners.

If there are no local groups in your area you might want to look on Flickr - I see there are several D60 groups, mostly 'country' orientated. here is the link for the UK group;

I find Flickr groups useful as you can get some feedback from your pictures and ask technical questions in the group.

Hi, R! Join a camera club! Go to: http://www.psa-photo.org/resourcePageDisplay.asp?DivID=8&menuID=6&pageID=492

Most camera club dues are minimal and the help and inspiration you receive will be worth it.

Also on Nikon's site: http://nikonusa.com/Learn-And-Explore/Photography-Techniques/index.page

How's your knowledge of software? You need something like Photoshop Elements or Paintshop Pro to touch up, resize and do all the editing you may want to do.

But I am serious about the camera club, for places to shoot, how to get different effects and just the social aspect, you can't beat it.

This site contains photography tutorials and courses for you to study at your own pace. https://tr.im/WBQC6

To get started, all you need is a camera, whether it be the latest digital camera or a traditional film-based apparatus!

Read about what is ISO, aperture and exposure. Discover different types of lenses and flash techniques. Explore portrait photography, black and white photography, HDR photography, wedding photography and more.

Join http://www.redbubble.com/ which is free, then you can join the following group where you can get lots of help, tips, and hints.

Also, the following groups may be of help as the models have similarities.

And as previously stated, it would have helped if you had told us where you live.

EDIT.

I will be in Looe late Sept for a few days if you want a couple of hours quick tuition. Maybe meet in Polperro?

It might help a bit if you told us where "down here" actually is.
