The top of the range full frame Canon is the 1D. I think the body is around £5000

Next the 5D for £2200

Then the 6D entry level full frame.

The 5Dmk3 is the closest.

Lower resolution (only 22.3 megapixels as opposed to 36.2,) but the 5Dmk3 does excel in some areas like autofocus, frames per second, and maximum ISO.

5D mark III is the closer one. according to dxomark lab test, Nikon D800 dynamic range and color depth is second to none. but 5d mark three has better auto white balance than d800. choice is yours if you own quite a few canon lenses then no point moving to nikon. otherwise nikon d800 is the best. i moved from canon 5d mark2 and i am very happy.

Canon 1Dx.

Not that it matters. The advantage of full frame has all but been erased due to the newer crop frame cameras with excellent sensors.
