Question:
How can I develop film from a disposable camera by myself?

My friend and I are going to buy disposable cameras tomorrow so we can take pictures so they can have the slightly vintage foggy effect! The thing is, when I last did that, I had Walgreens develop the pictures and only like 9 pictures out of 30 came out. My friend has experience with developing her own pictures, so we can do it ourselves and quite frankly I trust her more than Walgreens. We just don't know what materials we need? And is it even possible to develop disposable camera film ourselves?

Your friend most likely has developed B&W film before. Color film requires different chemistry and conditions. How did Walgreens mess up the processing on the previous roll? My guess is that if only 9 pictures "came out", then that's all there was on the roll. Automated film processing is pretty reliable unless their chemistry was really whacked, which is possible. Disposacams are preset in focus, aperture and shutter speed. I have read they are about 1/100 - 1/125 @ f/8-f/11. So anything in dim conditions without a flash does not work because it will be underexposed..

Take your disposacam to a different lab and before leaving it ask if their morning control strip was within parameters. If they have no idea what you are talking about, take it somewhere else. When you find a decent lab, ask for processing with your pictures put on cd. Then put whatever effect you want in post processing.

I used to work in a photograph Lab. The quick reply is no! Even if you had the right chemical substances, processing coloured movie is incredibly intricate with out the machines used in labs. This is considering the fact that you want special coloured filters to expose (separately) each and every color within the negative. Its less difficult to develop and print black and white movie due to the fact you most effective ought to expose it as soon as. I am sorry to hear you opened the film and lightweight acquired to it - your movie is ruined this time, but simply take it to a snapshot Lab next time! The gear you could have to expose coloured movie is well in far more than simply buying it!

Your friend has experience developing but doesn't know what she needs? Good luck on that. If it's any consolation, I don't go to Walgreens either.
