I took a picture of a ceiling fan for my phone background once....also a picture of a light switch.
Shoes are always good subjects...like shot in the position they were left, maybe with a toy, or bag next to them.
Take pics of lots of different colored things...or a rainbow theme...or all in the same color tone...whites, blues, reds...something like that.

Sometimes it's not about what you take a picture of, but how you take it.
Anything in your house can look interesting if taken from the right angle, the best thing to do is experiment, it's your own tastes that will set you apart, if it feels right to you, go for it =)

try a fan, but get the blades to blur just a bit.
or maybe the cold fog coming from the freezer.
steam forming on a bathroom mirror..(in stages of course)
maybe of your pet cat or dog sleeping cozy.
