I'd like to get a medium format camera, the square ones, like the typical hassleblad style. I don't really care for make, or image quality, i'd just like to have one in my collection. Preferably functional, so i can take it out for a spin everynow and again. Problem is, i don't want to spend alot on it.

Any cheap ones? Cheap makes? (i'll probably be searching ebay) Thanks.

Just get a Holga 120, which is 6 x 6 format, (or can be masked to 6 x 4.5). I only suggest this because you say image quality is not a priority and you want cheap. Don't pay over $20 for one. You should be able to find plenty on Ebay. Kids buy them, can't use them, and then never touch them again.

You can actually produce some interesting shots with these cameras. Some of my Holga 6 x 6 shots:

There are cheap folding 6x6cm 12 on 120 film cameras by the hundred on eBay at any given moment. A clran lense, a working shutter and light-tight bellows is all you need at that should be easily obtainable at less then £20. 300934168931 ends in one hour! 161069819105 looks good too.

You can pick up a cheap twin lens reflex, Mamiya or Rollei for under £100.

Most second hand camera shops will sell them but don't buy from an auction site as you don't know what you're getting.

There are a number of very inexpensive lomo-style medium format cameras that you can play with:

To get into a decent medium format with interchangeable lenses, you are looking at over $2,000 new.

Check ebay. You could easily get a working Bronica with lens and film back for under $300.
