Hi mate use the 'quick selection tool' if you have it or 'magic wand' then press control J once you have made it circular to make a new layer with that selection... or use the pen tool to select a circular shape this is also an easy way, if I don't help type the question into youtube, plenty of tutorials on there. I don't have CS2 I aplogise.

I'd be lying if I suspected that you *weren't* going to copy one person's head onto another body... but anyway, here's the correct answer to your question:
Have you noticed that in the Tools palate, there are tools which have a small black triangle at the bottom of the icon? That means there's more than one tool associated with that icon. Click-and-hold your mouse on the rectangular marquee tool to reveal the polygon and elliptical marquee tools.
If configured correctly in the Preferences window, you can set Photoshop to cycle through all the tools in a group by pressing the associated letter-button over and over and over -- in this case, the key for Marquee.
Don't forget to hold the SHIFT key when drawing your elliptical marquee to keep a perfect circle selection.
Once your marquee selection has been made, ensure you're in the correct target layer -- if this is just an image you've opened, say, from the web or your camera, there will most likely be only one layer in the Layers Palate, so forget I mentioned it.
Once selected, copy your selection by either pressing Command-C (Control-C for PC) and then open your other image. Press Command-V (Control-V for PC) to place your copied circular selection into the second image.

Click on the small downward pointing black triangle just below the rectangle tool and you will get a pop up That shows you the other shapes you can use , which are the circle ,column and row Marquee tools.

About the image you want to cut and paste > Use the lasso tool to draw round the object and make sure you link the 1st click to the last one after you've drawn round it so its a full path then copy and and paste it into that document. To move the pasted object where you want it: you select the layer on the layers palette. If its not there, then go to Windows > Layers. the palette should come up. you click on the layer and it should let you move the object on that layer. Hope I helped. I need to learn more tricks and tips myself on Photoshop.

If you right click on the rectangle tool icon, some more tools appear. There you will find the elliptical tool. Make your selection, ctrl+c to copy it and ctrl+v to paste it where you want.

Click and hold on that tool, other shape options, including a circle, will show up.
Enjoy!
