Constructive criticism for my website?

I'm exploring different medias of art, and I'm into photography right now. I've been trying to sell it in an online gallery that I created. It would be really nice if you wanted to look over my website quick and give some feedback.

I would just like an objective viewpoint, because I like to know what people want. I'm basically trying to go for something creative and different, and I think my site definitely needs some work!

Took a quick look... delete all the flowers except the water lilly, the fountain isn't a macro photo, the squirrel has no hands, the chickens are out of focus and the turtle is too centered. I wonder about your composition skills too, most are good a few are bad. It could be intentional if you know what you are doing and are experimenting. Other than that keep shooting. The website is nice.

The site is simple and easy to navigate. That's both a good and a bad thing. I prefer simple, clean layouts but people expect really pretty websites.

I find that websites that have too much clutter pull the eye away from the pictures ... it's the same concept as using white space in photography.

One thing I would change is your email address. You paid for a domain name ... doesn't your web host offer email addresses with that? It would be best if you had addresses like lisa.anderson@lookagainart.com and webmaster@lookagainart.com (for problems or questions about your website).

With my host I get 1000 addresses and currently use 5 (webmaster, eric.lefebvre, consulting, stockphotos, weddings). this allows me to seperate various emails based on the type of email I expect to get. For example: I use the "stockphotos" one for all my micro stock photography accounts.

Now on to a more technical aspect ... to preface this, I do web development and design for my government.

Your website generates a lot of errors.

You've declared the document type as XHTML Transitional and just your main page generates 8 errors and 1 warning when validated as such.

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://www.lookagainart.com/index.html&charset=(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0

One obvious error is "
  • "

You'll notice that you have a slash outside the quotation marks:class=\ ' weeb...

This mistake is repeated a couple of times and is causing a cascade of errors ...

Another problem is the use of display elements in XHTML ... and are old HTML tags and are removed from the XHTML standards ... instead, things like strong and font and so on so forth are all controlled in cascading style sheets (CSS). Also, in XHTML, tags are lower case so it should have been not (but even then, strong isn't in the standards anymore so ...)

Attribute values need to be placed inside quotation marks and values have to be specified so is it 3px or 3%. size=3 should have been size ="3px".

Anyways, there's plenty of other problems of a technical nature. Have the site looked over by a proper webmaster.

Nice work. The website is a little blah, but I've seen far worse.

You need to have the titles for your photos on the page with them, or set up for rollover display. Only the first photo does that. It wasn't until I looked at the Order prints page that I found the titles for the photos.

Very crisp and clear photos. Good work.

    Best of success to you!

Uh, it would help if you actually provided a link.
