Can you still develop C-41 35mm film at Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Office Depot, Costco? I'm a graphic design student and I'm really interested in taking up Photography as a side concentration, I just bought an old polaroid and I'm saving up for a Canon T2i DSLR camera so naturally I'm also really interested in tracking down an old SLR camera that uses film. I just need to know if stores still develop it and If not, are there any places/websites I can send them to have them developed?

Some do, some don't, but many will caution you against sending film to a 1-hour lab to be a abused. A quality lab can developed you film through mail-order. Getting the best developing and services is not very expensive.

I personally like Dwayne's photo in Kansas & Photoworks SF. Look up thier websites. You'll find order forms and other information there.

If you really like film, I can attempt to guide you through investing in the inexpensive equipment necessary for developing and scanning at home in your kitchen. You save a sh*t-load of money that way, gain full control over the process, and have lots of fun doing it. Email me if this interests you. I just finished developing a roll of film a minute ago. Love it.

Edit:

Whoa, there is plenty of film available online from Kodak and Fuji directly as well as through professional photography suppliers. Don't let ignorant people tell you film is hard to obtain and shoot because that's far from the truth. B&H Photo and video in new york has a massive superstore that sells film and other things at the best prices. Check them out.
