They're not thaaaat bad, there's even a few OK ones. But the majority are just a little to hip. Eyeballs, close ups, Alice in wonderland themes, parties, shoes, flowers, etc have all been done before. No one wants to see them. It looks like you are just shooting things that look neat to you, which is not the way to go about it. Look at some of the top people on Flikr, Just K and Rosie Hardy are two I'll cite. (Forget about the photoshop manipulations, both do have un manipulated pictures as well) they have an intention behind every picture. This http://www.flickr.com/photos/rosie_hardy/4761811416/ is a dead broken doll and probably has something to say about femininity in society.

Some of you pictures are your friends with sparklers, or your eye.

Your just making the same mistake many amateur photographers make. You are getting to attached to your own photos. You need to learn to be more critical of your own work.

One of the big differences between amateur and professional photographers is the circular file (trash can).

1) You need to bring the technical quality of you photographs up. Contrast, color balance and sharpness, etc.

2) Have a reason for everything you put in the photo. The point of the photograph needs to be quickly apparent or you will lose your viewers interest.

So the first place I would start is edit your photos down to one page at this point. Look at each one critically. Ask yourself "is this really good, or do I like it because I took it".

Good luck and enjoy the journey!

Some of them are good. The rest need a story to make their abstractness relevant to a viewer. Like Drunk Amber. I think you are on the right track - I can see you as a documentary/candid style photographer but the picture has to tell the story, not the caption.

Look, I'm going to give the simple answer.

You are young, you think that they are great. That's fine, you are happy with your images, but you can not expect everybody else to think the same. When you present these images (which to be honest are very cliched teen images I have seen thousands of times before) you can expect two reactions. From the younger crowd and those who are inexperienced with photography, you can expect a "wow, they are great!" answer. From somebody older, or somebody more experienced in photography, you can expect a less than positive response. Who you choose to listen to is up to you, but constructive criticism from experienced photographers will help you progress as a photographer (if you choose to listen to them!). Funnily enough, it is always the young kids who say they do not like my images. Maybe it's because I do not use colour splash, don't do light painting and think bokeh shots are crap?.

Anyway...

My advice is to try and steer away from all the typical cliched images, stop with the silly pretentious titles, and study quality photography such as the images in these links.

Good luck!.

Personally, I liked your photos

Abandoned lamp post, "Dude look at the shoe", Winter, ..., my light & the lonely man with his bag of bread were my favourites.

The reason some people do not like your photos are probably because some are not very good quality, some are a bit pointless and ( i find this with my work aswell) What you are trying to capture - just isn't photogenic, it doesn't turn out like you wanted to in your mind or it isn't as intresting as you thought it would be. (when I say some I only mean some, as in a few, as in little amount)

I liked your photos and they are not bad although some lack intrest.

I think that you have potential to be quite good... work on your composition, try photographing things from a little different angle, most of your pics are head on (which is fine but sometimes a different angle is better) try not to center your subject (unless it fills the entire frame)

just experiment with light sources, composition, etc. and see what works best for your style and tastes.

but i promise you that if you experiment with your photography and go outside your comfort zone you will improve.

They're okay but they're typical photos that everyone does. Also too much colour can ruin a photo. In some of your photos they have too much colour however, too little colour can ruin a photo too.

Find something unique take a picture of.

They're not bad it's just everyone has seen those sort of photos before and after awhile it gets boring.

Keep on taking photos but find more unique things to take photos of.

They're not bad just keep on practicing.

I THINK THIS IS ONE OF THEM SITUATIONS WHERE, I BET NOBODY HAS SAID THAT YOUR PHOTOS ARE ''BAD'' AND ITS THE OLDEST TRICK IN THE BOOK (CLEVER THOUGH)

INSTEAD OF ASKING US ''ARE MY PICTURES 'GOOD', YOU HAVE CHANGED IT TO PRETENDING TO US THAT PPL ALREADY THINK THERE BAD, AND YOU HOPE THAT WILL MAKE US SAY ''AWW NO THEY ARNT THAT BAD THERE GOOD''

CLEVER ISNT IT..

YOU HAVE FOOLED SOME PEOPLE BUT NOT ME, I KNOW ALL THE TRICKS ;-)

SO IF YOU ASKING ''ARE MY PICTURES ANY GOOD'' WELL ILL ANSWER THAT,

AND YES SOME ARE PRETTY GOOD, YET SOME ARE PRETTY DULL, YOU WONT EVER PLEASE EVERYONE AND TO BE HONEST YOU SHOULDNT EVER WANT TO..TAKE PICTURES FOR YOURSELF AND NOBODY ELSE. GOOD LUCK X

Not bad... Macro Pics. are fine...

When you take pics., don't think all pics. will be beautiful...

2 or 3 or 4 or 5 will be good out of 100...

Nowadays you have digital cameras...

Whatever you want to click them and if they are not good delete it and

click the more pics...

But in olden days, you have to wait until the pics. has to come from the studio

to find if it is good or not...

Good Luck...

nah. I don't think it has to do with you all that much rather the camera has bad quality or something. I like the one who has a girl with shades on. It looks like shes at a park or something.

No way!! That is some serious photography. Don't listen to them, they obviously do not know what they are talking about.

Keep up the good work.
