The Chicken, That's like saying did God create the womb or the woman first

The chicken came first! Egg-baring females all have eggs inside of them--including human females. Therefore, you could ask: "Which came first: the human or the egg?" If you would answer that the egg came first in a human, chicken, dog, fish, or other egg-baring creature, then you need to answer the question of how the egg was fertilized to make the human/chicken/dog/fish/etc. It had to be fertilized by sperm from the male of that species. And that male had to be full-grown, and not just an egg, himself. On top of that, an egg just can't be plopped down on the ground out of nowhere and expect to incubate on its own. A chicken, with the exact body temperature, has to keep it at just the correct warmth so a chick can grow to maturity. Duh!!

The egg would come first, since it has all the genetic information to create a chicken. A chicken alone contributes only half of the genetic input needed for reproduction.

From the perspective of someone who believes in evolution...
The egg came first.
Birds are thought to have evolved from lizards, so the lizards that would evolve into chickens laid eggs of chicken-like lizards, which laid eggs of creatures that more closely resembled modern chickens, and so forth, until the first egg containing a true chicken was laid.
Answers (but who has them all?)

um..you could say both..
You need an egg to get a chicken, but you need a chicken to lay the egg.
If you are talking about a single chicken's life, I would say the egg because it is the begining of that chicken's life.

That depends...what kind of egg are you talking about? :-)
Just kidding, the chicken came first, along with all the other creatures that God created.

Egg. Dinosaurs laid eggs before there ever was a chicken.
