Can any1 tell me what a tripod is..i know it is a fairly simple question but can some explain what it is to mee how you use it and what it does?

Well, um, a tripod has three (the tri-) legs. A camera is attached to it so that it won't vibrate at all, so that the user can take long exposure shots without them being blurry. They're extremely useful.
When you take geometry, you'll learn why they're tripods, not quadpods or such. Three points is the minimum amount of points to select an area on a plane (for now, the ground). Just to demonstrate this (it'll make sense, I promise) find a chair in your house that wobbles. Really any chair with four or more legs wobbles. Try to wobble a three-legged stool. You can't do it, can you? That's because it is impossible.

It's one of thinks with the legs that makes a spot for you camera to sit so you can use your camera to take a photo-graph but also be in the picture and not have someone else take it, so you can just set it on self-timer

a tripod, is a stand with three "legs" that u can connectt ur camera on to take a still picture.
