this camera was given to me by a family friend when i was a teen, and my dad promptly took it away for "safe keeping" and gave me another camera to "learn on". along with the camera body i also have; braun vario zoom 340sca flash, users manual (in german), 3 lens filters, 2 lenses (hektor f=13.5cm 1:45 Nr. 1345289 & f=5cm 1:2 Nr. 1569293), light meter, brown leather case with filter case attached, & shutter triger.
i would like to learn more about this eqpt. & find out its value.

You have the finest camera ever made in the history of photography.

The body is worth about $300 if it is a double stroke. Perhaps $450+ if it is a factory single stroke. Your collection is probably worth total $1000.

However, it is really priceless. I would sell the Hektor lenses and buy a Summicron. You will then have the finest camera/lens combo ever known!

Nothing shoots like an M3. Keep it.

It's worth on the order of $1000 depending on lenses and condition. I do NOT recommend you sell it on eBay. I'll explain why. First of all, eBay is going to take you to the cleaners with listing and PayPal fees. Possibly $100 or more. Second, if you have not been using and maintaining this camera it could require a substantial investment in adjustment and calibration. Because of the listing policies eBay now has, a buyer could receive your camera, find something "wrong" with it, and force a refund down your throat at the very best. At the very worst, he could take it to a "professional" and force you to pay the repair fees it "needs," or force a refund and leave you with a broken camera worth much less and a bill for postage in both directions. If you're not already an established eBay seller with a positive feedback rating, PayPal will hold your money until the buyer has left you good feedback. If you badger your buyer to leave feedback, he'll probably give you nasty feedback. eBay discourages buyers from leaving feedback until they've had ample time to have "the buyer's experience." Read the "seller central" discussion forum for some horror stories from people just like you. New ones are posted every day. eBay is no place for a novice with an expensive item. You would do much better listing this item on craigslist or with a local camera shop, even on consignment. I also don't recommend the popular camera buyer websites out there because they will give you about half what you could get in a private sale. If you're not in a desperate hurry to part with this camera then don't settle for less than it's worth.

Your description says you already know more about the equipment than most people here on this website. Its the wrong place to get advice on this matter. Seek professional advice elsewhere.

There are several used camera dealers that can probably give you an idea. I would try KEH and B-H first.
