I'm in late 50's too...so here we go...bring both pictures into Elements. Edge the toy with magic lasso, go to edit>copy. Look on the very bottom of elements and you'll see a little arrow that will allow you to switch to the other picture. then go to edit>paste. It will put that on a new layer. Get that little hand shaped move tool and put it in place. Resize it keeping your left hand on shift key so that it doesn't distort. Done.

I have Photoshop Elements so I think I can help you out. First you'll need to select the toy without the background and such. Depending on what the image is like, you may be able to use the "magic selector wand" (looks like a stick with a light on the end on the menu). Click on the toy and it should select it. If this doesn't work for your picture, you will have to do this by hand. Use the "magnetic lasso tool" which just looks like a lasso with a magnet next to it. Pull the mouse around the outside of the toy until you have traced the entire image.

You should have a dotted line moving around your selected toy. Then hit ctrl+c, ctrl+v. This will copy the image to a new layer.

On the right side of the Photoshop screen, select the new layer with the selected toy. Press ctrl+a and ctrl+c.

Then open your other document that you want to move the toy to and paste it (ctrl+v). You can then move the toy to the position that you want on your other document.

Hope that helps. :)

Open both images, goto Window>Arrange Images (in the menus at the top of the page) and select either Horizontal, when it will place one above the other,or Vertical when it will place both pics side by side.

Click anywhere in the 'Toy' image and make your selection.

Click on the 'Move Tool' (or just click 'V' on your keyboard which does the same thing) place your cursor within your selection, hold down the left mouse button and drag onto the other image. This will copy your selection into the background image.

Blending one image into the other is a whole new ball game and depends on which version of Photoshop Elements you've got,.

If you need to resize the 'Toy' then make sure the layer with the 'Toy' is selected, press and hold the Ctrl key and click 'T' this should pull up the Transform Tool and put a bounding box around your selection, Hold down the Shift key (to maintain the aspect ratio (Width to Height ratio)) and drag one of the corners of the bounding box to the size you require. When you happy just press Enter. With the 'Toy' layer selected select the Move Tool (V) and you can move the 'Toy' around in it's new home.

Hope this helps.

--- Open the image with the toy

--- Use the Lasso Tool to select the toy (hold the left mouse button down and drag around the edge)

--- Hit CTRL+C to Copy

--- Open your other image

--- Hit CTRL+V to Paste

--- Use the Move Tool to move it where you want it

--- Use Edit -->Transform to change the size and rotation

--- You can also lighten and darken it with the usual tools

--- When you're happy, use Layers --> Flatten Image

--- Save as a new .jpg (highest quality -- you can make it smaller for e-mailing and such later)

Do you have the layers appropriate? on the layer palette, theres a watch to show the layer is seen, then a sprint loop/link portion of coach the two layers are appropriate. Unlink the historic past and scoot the deer layer around with the pass gadget or remodel to rotate.
