Everywhere you look there are photographs from huge billboards for advertising to your mates snapshots.

Photography is used in every sphere of society for pleasure, for business, for medical purposes, police, education etc etc etc

If you ever go a day without coming in contact with photography in one form or another then you (not you personally) must be living in a cave.

Just think for one second about how often and how many photographs you see in a day and I am sure you will be able to figure out something to write about.

Oh man. Photography is EVERYWHERE! Some of its many, many uses include:

-IDENTITY

-documentary

-self-expression

-perception

-persuasion

-communication in general

Think about where you see photographs. You're right about the advertisements, but I have a feeling your teacher may be looking for a deeper analysis into that. How are the photographs used in the advertisements? There are certain things and certain angles in every photo used in advertising to send a message.

In our technological generation, photos are everywhere. From the typical MySpace/Facebook poses to recording a BART officer shoot a man to death in a BART station. Think about why people pose the way they do in the photos they CHOOSE to put up. Yes, it is all intentional, even if it's subconscious. You don't put up an ugly picture of yourself on MySpace for no reason at all, do you?

I wish I had this assignment. lol I hope I gave you a few ideas you could use.

photography is documentary!so anything we document is with a camera!

special occasions(xmas, new year, bdays, weddings), passport, identity,

university, news etc

on the other hand, if u not look at it as an image on a piece of paper, we see photographs everywhere!photography is composition! films are photography, whereever you look is photography, painting is photography(painters will not be happy to hear this), your window works like a camera!move to left you see something diferent!move to right bam something new!

hope it helps for ideas

Like everyone else, the judges will be suckers for a cat doing something cute. Sift through your files for images of Lori doing something amusing -- ball of string, chasing butterfly, you know what I mean. If you can't find anything, get out a ball of string and start shooting. HTH V

I really want to help you with this homework.

Does it need to be double-space? What font? how many pages do you need? Or how many words minimal?

Microsoft Word format okay? Adobe Framemaker? or Corel Ventura Publisher?

we use photography in marking special occasions:birthdays, graduations, weddings, senior pictures, anniversarys as well as vacations. most events will have several shutterbugs with their cameras, taking photos to look through later as they reflect back on that event and how time flies.

we look at our baby pictures and compare them to pics of our own children at similiar ages. we look at pictures of our family members to see who we most resemble.

we use photos to mark the passing of time, and to remember special events and milestones in our lives
