need to be in the picture myself so will need to set it up
do not have anyone to take the picture for me
so which leads to my question of....

Which apps, are best for timers, best quality to help with my situation, i like video recording a sequence then taking pictures from the video by pausing, is there any apps that would help me in this case?

the iphone's camera isn't very good quality as it only counts for a smidge of the price of the actual iphone. if you are taking photos for a business then the consumer will not be as well intrigued by a grainy image. i suggest borrowing a friends camera, it doesn't have to be a bulky DSLR (although that would be best) it could be a simple point and shoot camera that the "average joe" owns.

if you dont know anyone with a camera (which is very unlikely) then you should hire a professional to do it for you. it may be a bit costy for the time being but there will be a significant difference of income than if you take a picture with your iphone.

also, the iphone doesn't have a tripod mount so your angles to shoot from are limited.

if you insist on using your iphone then any timer app will do, and just use instagram to edit your images. but dont go for the dramatic effects because it needs to be professional

hope this has been helpful :) and good look with your business

You don;t have anywhere near the right gear or knowledge to do this and as for doing video and then extracting still from the video!?!? That will produce even WORSE images.

1080p video is actually like 2MP

1920X1080 pixels so 2073600 / 1000000 = 2.07 million pixels (or MP)

That resolution is completely useless for printed materials. On a brochure ... you could print that at most ... 6.4 inches by 3.6 inches.

The next problem is motion blur ... you'll be recording 30 frames per second at probably 1/60th of a second. 1/60th of a second exposure is barely good enough for a static subject mess less one in motion. The individual frames will all be very blurry. You don;t notice this when looking at video because the human mind is REALLY good at stitching together moving images.

I do not know about about timers but the killer here is the lighting in a gym. There is no way to make professional looking images if the sole light source is the blah gym lighting.

Hire a pro shooter for an hour. Get all of your shots pre set and bring in the pro.

Good luck.

And pulling frames from a video will look even worse - crap !

I second what Fhoto Ace said. Hire a pro.

You have two choices:

1. Hire a professional, have quality images with you in them, and get taken seriously.

2. Be a cheap a**, attempt to take photos yourself, images come out like total garbage, people don't take you seriously.

What are you going to choose?
